Large Extended Family Vacation Rentals in Cocoa Beach are Cheaper than multiple hotel rooms

I have known about AirBnB and vacation rentals for a very long time, but I never used them or saw their value until recently.  Before AirBnB ever existed, my grandmother would hold large family gatherings usually at her house.  She had 6 children, their spouses and a slew of grandchildren all congregating in one place. One gathering she decided to have in Cocoa Beach and rented some connecting rooms at a beach front hotel.  It probably cost her a fortune. This Summer I was finally able to see the value. I was fortunate enough to be a part of some large group gatherings, and was amazed at how much nicer and more affordable it was for all of us to stay in one house, instead of renting multiple hotel rooms. In Cocoa Beach I stayed in 2 different houses. Both had a swiming pool and hot tub, both were one block from the beach and within walking distance to the Cocoa Beach Pier. One was for a smaller group and slept 8 people.  The other house was for a larger group and sle...

Top 5 Best Things to do in Key West

Image
 1.  The Conch Train    Packed with interesting details about Hemingway,  Mel Fisher, President Truman, Railroads, Pirates, Forts, Wars and Treasure, while taking an open air tour to all of those historical locations. My number 1 favorite thing to do to get the most out of Key West is taking a tour on The Conch Train. You can purchase your tickets  Here  . 2.  All Inclusive Water Sports  The most fun I have ever had on (off) the island!  Packed with adrenaline and variety, I was able to go parasailing, wave running, snorkeling and play on this floating playground all in one day.  If it's a bit pricey or you'd rather narrow it down, there are individual options for that as well. 3.  Old Town Trolley  Similar to the Conch Train but higher off the ground and more enclosed. The advantage of this tour is that you can hop off if you want to spend a little more time at a stop and then hop back on when you are ready to comple...

The Best Place to stay in Key West, Florida

Image
When planning a trip to Key West, the place you choose to stay can enhance your trip or make it more challenging.  I will give you the tips you will need, to choose the best place for you.  It all depends on what you plan to do while in town.   If you want to take advantage of our downtown area including Mallory Square, Sloppy Joe's, Duval Street, The Southern Most Point, or any of our numerous museums, entertainment,  restaurants and bars, I highly recommend staying at a location in Old Town. This is not because you just want to be close, this is because you will want to be within  walking distance.  Parking is very challenging downtown.  It can be hard to find a space and if you do, it'll cost you.  I enjoy finding a place to stay in Old Town (within a few blocks of Duval), so I can leave my car at the hotel and walk to everywhere I want to go. The best way that I have found to narrow my search by proximity to Duval, is by simply Google searchi...
